Bendoro Raden mas ontowiryo is the original name of pangeran diponegoro. His mother is R.A Mangkarawati who is coming From pacitan. His mother is not a queen but only a mistress. This is the reason why pangeran di ponegoro is very uninterested to live in Tegalrejo, in his grandmother’s house. Pangeran Diponegoro is very open to all so It makes many people give their sympathy and support to him.

Task 1: Short Biography of Cut Nyak Dhien

Read the following text and then write the recount text based on the following text!


Cut Nyak Dhien


Cut Nyak Dhien lahir pada tahun 1848 di Aceh Besar di wilayah VI Mukimm, ia terlahir dari kalangan keluarga bangsawan. Ayahnya bernama Teuku Nanta Seutia. Pada usia 12 tahun, ia menikah dengan Teuku Ibrahim Lamnga. Namun pada tahun 1878 Teuku Ibrahim Lamnga, suami dari Cut Nyak Dhien tewas karena telah gugur dalam perang melawan Belanda di Gle Tarum pada tanggal 29 Juni 1878. Tidak lama setelah kematian Ibrahim Lamnga, Cut Nyak Dhien dipersunting oleh Teuku Umar pada tahun 1880. Mereka dikaruniai anak laki-laki yang diberi nama Cut Gambang. Setelah pernikahannya dengan Teuku Umar, ia bersama Teuku Umar bertempur bersama melawan Belanda. Pada tanggal 6 November 1908, Cut Nyak Dhien meninggal karena usianya yang sudah tua. Cut Nyak Dhien diakui oleh Presiden Soekarno sebagai Pahlawan Nasional Indonesia pada tanggal 2 Mei 1964.

Recount Text

Recount text is a piece of text that retells past event(s) in the past.

·      Social function/Purpose
To amuse, entertain and to deal with actual or vicarious experience in different ways.

·      Generic structure
Orientation
Orientation gives the background information of the story. It gives detail of the participant and the setting (time and place).
Sequence of Event(s)
Event(s) is the main activities that occurred in the story. In recount text, event(s) is written in chronological sequence.
Re-orientation
Re-orientation is closing statement that may include elaboration. Some recount texts also have concluding paragraph. However this part is optional

·      Language Features
-            Proper noun to  identify those involved in the story
Ex: I, He, She
-            Descriptive word to give details about who, what, when, where and how.
-            The use of the pass tense to retell the events.
Ex: “I slept too late”, “I went home last night.”
-            Words that show order of events.
-            Ex: first, then, after that, etc.
